Pirates Agree to Deal With Jeff Karstens

The Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to a deal with right handed pitcher Jeff Karstens, avoiding arbitration. No terms have been announced on the deal, other than it being for the 2012 season. Karstens was estimated to make $2.8 M in his second year of arbitration. I’ll update this post when more information is available.

UPDATE 12:08 PM: Bill Brink reports that Karstens will receive $3.1 M.
