Maybe its just doing the guy a favor and helps the orginization down the road with another veteran. Theres not even a ST invite so its not like he’ll be taking playing time away. What if Delmon is FA and he signs here just because of this. Some peoples anger is so misplaced. 5 years ago we would never even know he was at Pirate city.

]]> By: Ian Rothermund http://www.piratesprospects.com/2012/02/dmitri-young-to-work-out-at-pirate-city-next-week.html#comment-12093 Ian Rothermund Wed, 08 Feb 2012 04:31:00 +0000 http://www.piratesprospects.com/?p=25483#comment-12093 I am trying to be a little more objective about this than the casual, fire and brimstone kind of not-fan of the Pirates.   I also understand that there are going to be a lot more individual stories of crap level players that are either getting another chance, or even just a look, as in Young’s case here.  However, it is tiresome to neither see nor hear anything of any actual value in the last month and a half or so.  I know they made an offer on Jackson that would have been sizable and easily the biggest news of their off season, but I’m hoping that there’s some plan B, and that they weren’t putting all of their eggs in one basket.
