Now if it’s 3 weeks from now and he still looks the same, then it might be time to hit the panic button. But I do remember several players who couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn in ST, but lit it up once the season began (i.e. Nyjer Morgan)…My problem with Pedro is his approach looks the same as last year. He needs to be more aggressive on first pitch fastballs. He looks at them as they blow passed him. If he clocks a few of them then pitchers will start to fear him a little and quit laying them in there so he can get into a more hitter friendly count!!!

I was impressed with most of the relievers from last night’s game; really nice stuff all around.  I really liked Morris’ slider, that was a tight pitch, and I think Duke Welker showed the tools to explain why they put him on the 40-man to avoid a Rule-5 situation.
