- Right-hander A.J. Burnett was seen in Pittsburgh today by Dr. Beatty for his one week post-surgical follow-up. Burnett is doing well and Dr. Beatty has cleared AJ to return to Bradenton, Fla. Burnett will undergo a few follow up exams in Bradenton tomorrow morning prior to confirming the next steps in his program.
- Right-hander Daniel Cabrera (right forearm tightness) threw a live BP yesterday without issue. He is scheduled to pitch one inning in a “B” game tomorrow.
- Infielder Neil Walker (low back stiffness) remains day-to-day. Walker is feeling better each day. The current plan has him progressing to increased baseball activities today with a goal of full baseball activities tomorrow. The results of this step will determine his game readiness.
- Catcher Jose Morales (left oblique strain) is progressing through his conditioning, throwing and hitting programs. Morales has been sidelined since the start of camp.
- Right-hander Logan Kensing (oblique) continues his injury rehabilitation.
- Infielder Gustavo Nunez, who was placed on the 60-day DL on February 19, with a right ankle injury, continues his injury rehabilitation.
