They stress stealing bases and taking extra bases and being aggressive but they refruse to address stupidity.

Every game……. Every game… players are out just doing dumb things that have nothing to do with being aggressive it is just a lack of awareness.

I used to think that oh well they are just learning or its spring training. but it happens during the regular season year after year.

How many times this year will a player over slide 2nd base while sliding head first?

How many times will a player on 2nd be out trying for 3rd base on a ball hit  in front of him?

I could go on with dozens of other blunders that are just the product of carelessness or a lack of thinking.

But what bothers me is that the coaching staff allows it to happen.

Either they let it pass or they don’t want to be bothered. 

I’ll tell you by the penalties handed out today by the NFL Commish  there won’t be anybody putting out bounties in the NFL anymore. Why? because he made it important.

Until The Pirates make it important players are going to keep running into outs every game and for a team that can’t afford to waste even one run a game it can cost them maybe 10 games a year maybe more. Who knows?
