I can’t believe that Alvarez is a lock @ 3rd. From what I have seen, there are 3 people ahead of him. He needs to go down and think about his future.

there’s no need for five outfielders. If someone gets injured, McLouth would step in. If two got injured you could use Jones and recall Hernandez or Boggs, Marte even if needed from Triple-A. Navarro, if he makes the club can also play in the outfield. So could Hague. There’s plenty of options.

Not a lock IMO. Still building up arm strength, and velocity is still 90-93, touched 94. He’s progressing though.

Jones can play OF, if injuries strike we would move out, McGehee and teh others can play 1B. Evans alos has some time in teh OF, although I’d say he’s a longshot right now.

No 5th outfielder? With the ever fragile Tabata assured of a starting position and only McClouth as a backup can anyone else (other than Jones) fill in? And there is no sub SS, although a couple of guys could finish a game in a pinch. But, all in all this bench shapes up as the best in years.
