  1. im curious, have you seen any updated mock drafts lately? i know you don’t see many MLB Mock Drafts online since its not as popular as the NFL, but there may be some out there! im hearing rumblings that people DO NOT want the pirates to select another pitcher in the 1st

    • One mock draft that I saw has the Pirates taking Albert Almora, a player that is ranked around 30 on the board.
A couple of other draft gurus have the Pirates taking a Pitcher, Jake Barrett or  SS, Kenny Diekroeger. My choice at this point in time would be Victor Roache

      • Victor Roache is a pretty huge reach at #8 overall. he may be available in the comp round for the pirates 2nd pick because of his season ending injury…MLB.com has him at #21 overall right now. and with Albert Almora, he’s rated #6 overall according to Jonathan Mayo on MLB.com. and I am a big fan of his, so I trust him because his job for MLB.com is in fact “Draft and Prospect Expert”.

    •  Check out MLB Draft Guide. It is kind of like a Pirates Prospects for the MLB Draft. The guy over there is a pretty decent dude and posts mock drafts from websites all over the internet. Also, it is a good place get information on all the draft picks.

  2. You have to go with the player that has the highest ceiling, regardless of whether it’s a pitcher or not.  If Giolito is there at 8th and he’s even close to healthy they absolutely have to take him.  Roache and Diekroeger may last into the supplemental round, especially with the injury to Roache.

  3. Correa why not talk, sickles has pirates taking him, better get on the ball

  4. Correa is definitely the pick at 8 if he’s there in which he should be. Hanson is probably Neil Walker replacement at 2b.
