The Pirates “demote” someone to State College after they’ve pitched multiple innings. They promote someone to WV to fill that spot and pitch a few innings. Then they “demote” the new person and bring the old person back a few days later. No one really leaves West Virginia though.

The Alderson promotion is legit. Brad Lincoln was sent to the majors, and Sharion Martis is on the DL, so Indianapolis needed pitchers.
