This is why guys like James McDonald have no endurance anymore, because at least 6 innings is no longer expected of them in the minors. It’s no wonder today’s starting pitchers are so weak and lame compared to the starters of the 60′s & 70′s.

The pitch indicator didn’t seem to be consistent last night. I believe Alderson is throwing 89-91 fastball right now. He looked very sharp. His curveball was nasty, too, making the players knees buckle. I liked what I saw from him during spring training (big league camp) as well.

While the pitch speed indicator wasn’t working,it was pretty apparent that he was a good 5 mph quicker than any previous time I had seen hm pitch over the past 3 seasons.
