I was sceaming at the TV for Hurdle to pinch run for Barajas when he hit the double!
I understand that you don’t want to leave the team without a catcher if the backup gets injured but I would play the odds of that happening to be able to tie the game. At least you gave them a chance to pull the game out.

What I read here and there, the natives are getting restless. Hurdle isn’t helping matters claiming this is a championship team.
The team as a whole strikes out at a 25% rate, has a couple of baserunning mistakes nightly, has no plate discipline, bunts far, far too often and is far short of capable position players.
The rebuilding plan has failed.

Come Sept 91 losses might be looking like a pretty good goal.
No team can be successful scoring less than 2 runs in nearly half its games.

The offense is an embarrassment. I can’t figure out why Hurdle would bat McLouth second. He has shown absolutely nothing positive at the plate.

I don’t know how the hitters look McD in the eye after this debacle. There was almost no hitting. What little hitting there was eventually got wasted by an abhorrent inability to drive in a runner from third with less than two out. Two guys were also erased on the bases. This club is on pace for 91 losses.
