Baseball Prospectus Mock Draft Has Zunino Falling

Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus has released another mock draft today, once again having Mike Zunino fall to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Max Fried jumped up in to the top seven picks, going to the Royals in this mock draft, which pushed Zunino down to the Pirates.

Goldstein mentions that the link to Deven Marrero won’t go completely away, but that Zunino could suddenly fall surprisingly far in the draft. He also notes that there are teams in the next four picks after the Pirates who are kicking the tires on Zunino, and hoping wildly to get him.

If Zunino is there for the Pirates, they’ve got to take him.

If he does drop and the Bucs don’t take him, it will be ridiculous. His performance in the regionals has been great, so again, I don’t think he drops. But I hope.
