Batters are hitting just .193 against him on the season, although he has allowed eight homers. In his last start on 6/5, Martis threw 8 shutout innings against Reading on the road.

Tyler Waldron will make his tenth straight start after opening the season with two relief appearances. He has pitched a total of 60.2 innings, allowing 72 hits, five homers, 14 walks and he has 45 strikeouts. In his last start, Tyler lasted just four innings, giving up seven runs on nine hits and four walks. In his previous two starts, Waldron pitched a total of 14 innings, allowing three earned runs, while striking out 15 batters. Left-handed batters are hitting .364 against him.

Matt Benedict will start for the 13th time this season. He has pitched a total of 67.2 innings, allowing 60 hits, just one homer, 17 walks and he has recorded 42 strikeouts. In his last start on 6/4, Matt pitched 5.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks. He has gone at least five innings in each of his last ten starts. In fact they have some of the same relatives in common, so it was only natural for him to become a lifelong Pirates fan.
