wonder if the change in arm slot was really good for his sink, but harder than anybody realized on his elbow. feel for the kid though

might be better for the Pirates to have him take most of next year getting well as we’ll likely have a better chance of keeping him as a free agent than otherwise

Dissapointing year for Ground Chuck, but I’m not concerned with losing him. We have depth on depth of young talented SP prospects in the minors ready to go. It’s not like your losing Jmac, Bedard, or Burnett – Charlie was average to poor this year – we can get that from anyone and he’s never been great – only had the potential of great.
Agree that Owens time to prove it or lose it is here – Lincoln by the way is another that I have had enough time to know he is a bullpen guy – period. I’d think that the other guy who needs a shot with Owens though is VandenHurk or whatever his name is. Lights out is what he’s been – give him the shot!

Charlie had a great start and the struggled. It seems like pitchers struggle for several outing before this diagnosis is made.

What is even worse the Bucs most likely will lose Morton since he is arbitration eligible after this year and he won’t really be back to his free agent year of 2014.

My first inclination was to think that Morton may have had too much of an increase in innings pitched last year. But when I Iooked at the numbers, I found that he only pitched 12 more innings last year than he did in 2010. In 2009 – with Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and the minors – he pitched 168.2. So, last years 171.2 wasn’t much of an increase at all.
