PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled right-handed reliever Evan Meek from Triple-A Indianapolis and placed righty Juan Cruz on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. The move was retroactive to July 18.
Meek posted a 2.21 ERA over 27 appearances at Triple-A with 23 walks and 30 strikeouts over 36.2 innings. Meek appeared in 10 games with Pittsburgh this season and posted a 7.59 ERA.
Cruz posted a 2.61 ERA over 31.0 innings with Pittsburgh this season. In his last appearance on the 17th, Cruz tossed 0.2 scoreless frames with two walks.

Those K-BB numbers suck for Meek. He never used to be that bad. I am not looking forward to this.

I can see the Morris argument, however Meek has been here before and that should benefit him. His performance however will dictate how long he stays.

Meek should be good to go. I hope he gets some z power and pitches some jewels.
