Here’s a question – why isn’t anyone talking about Josh Willingham from the Twins? He’s a bit pricey but one heck of a bat to protect Cutch and yet I have yet to see anyone talk about him on here. What gives?

True Clement shouldn’t be playing 1B but I would like to have him up here on the bench over one of our many backup middle infielders. I mean seriously do we really need 3 of them? Clement would provide a power threat off the bench and would be a much more interesting pinch hitter late in games than say Mercer.

these rumors are so funny….i never once saw Wandy associated in rumors this year with the Pirates, yet now they are guessing because he’s here that Correia or Karstens is going to go. no way do they trade Karstens fans like him and i think he would be cheap to lock up, Correia, hope not either, he’s pitched better than the credit he’s given.

We’ve been down that road with Clement. He is a AAAA player, who has struggled every time he’s been in the majors, either with Seattle or Pittsburgh. Plus, Jones needs to be at first… it is too much of an adventure to see him in RF every night. I agree about McGehee; he is a nice platoon player, but he is not an everyday guy at this point.

How come we haven’t taken a look at giving Clement a contract since he has pretty much been raking it all year long and we have repeatedly been saying how we need a bat. I’ve always had the scenario in my head of bringing up Marte to play left, let Mcgehee platoon 3rd with Alvarez, let garret play right and give clement a shot at first. Just seems in general like we are making moves just to try and make a statement that “we are going for it” when we have internal options we could explore. Especially with the likes of Victorino and Headley being talked about, just not that big on any of the guys being talked about… i say we just stick with what we got

Let’s not trade Karstens, he has shown he has the stuff to be a really strong starting pitcher and he is returning to form. As for Correia, I have grown to appreciate what he is over the last few months. There is a lot to be said for a #5 starter who you can rely on each start for 6 innings and 3 runs
