Although it may anger some, I would not be surprised in Clement is traded. He reminds me of Jones when we got him several years ago. Clement only plays first and he seems blocked here. If he continues to hit, they may do like what they originally did with Sutton, give him an opportunity to make it in the majors somewhere else. I think its a safe bet Jones is here for a long time, and Megehee is hitting. Also, they have some promising first baseman coming up in the lower minors. For them to call up Hague and leave Clement down there makes no sense. If he is organizational depth, they shouldn’t care if he is only pinch hitting. An American League team would probably be the best bet, since if he can’t do well defensively, he can DH.

I really don’t know what he did to anger management. It can’t be just he stunk in his first stint. We have other players who did the same and got another chance after burning up Indy.

Thing is, if they DFA Fryer, they absolutely lose him. Even if he clears waivers, this would be his second DFA, so he could opt for free agency.
With Jones and McGehee both hitting well right now, there wouldn’t be a place to play Clement. You’d be getting rid of a catcher all to give Clement a few at-bats per week.

While Clement is hitting very well, they’d be better off keeping him down there and using him as depth in case someone in the majors goes down.

Any news on Morales? I can’t imagine Fryer stays on the 40-man much longer if he’s available…
