Sadler just missed out on the top 50 last year, mostly because he was a low-A reliever. I usually don’t include relievers until they have success in the upper levels (or in the case of Victor Black and Jeff Inman, touch 98 MPH with their fastballs).

Sadler’s move to the rotation this year definitely puts him in the top 50. He’s seen a velocity increase in the last few years, getting up to the 90-93 MPH range. Definitely an arm to watch.

I think Casey Sadler is really getting overlooked because the Pirates have so many established pitchers right now. He looks like another mid to late round fastball academy success story ala Owens and FEAR.

Grossman IMO will be a McClouth type and Marte is a Clemente type, more tools by far for Marte. This is not to say that Grossman will not be better than McClouth or that Marte will be another Clemente, just saying the way both of them play this is how they look to me.

I still think Grossman will be a better player than Marte. But, I hope they BOTH become stars.
