Black was the third pitcher used. Lensing tossed two also and looked good. I just thought it was an odd situation to put Black in since they have been using him in high leverage or save situations.

VRR ~ Regarding Black pitching two innings to finish off a lopsided win, perhaps the starting pitcher McPherson had reached his pitch limit, and could not pitch another inning.

I was at Altoona’s game tonight. McPherson looked great. Mostly worked in the 93-95 mph range. I was curious why Black worked two innings to finish a 7-1 game. Is it possible he was being showcased for a possible trade?
