Yea I already go to fangraphs.com frequently, I was just scrolling down this page and was curious as to why it was a hitter’s average that was being the main stat shown, but its no big deal, like Tim said he usually does a good job breaking down a player’s stats in the recaps.

It would help the Pirates a lot if Sanchez can become a league average offensive player who contributes plus defense as a catcher. That’s what the Pirates thought they were getting when they drafted him.

Why not bring Marte up and see what he can do in the majors before trading him away? I think he would be better than Gorkys Hernandez and as much as I like Sutton and Harrison they can’t play the outfield.

Tim, Keep up the great work. You don’t need to change a thing. You already provide a lot of info. for us to keep updated with…I would hate to see you get burned out and stop enjoying what you do!

What I do is go to the boxes and then click on the individuals that I want to check out. For instance, this morn, I learned that Marte is hitting .333 at home but only .259 on the road.

That is something that can only be done by digging….give it a shot! It may become addicting, tho….lol

I would also love to see OBP/SLG and even possibly wOBA or wRC. I think possibly displaying the day old OBP/SLG/wOBA/wRC would be more informative and possibly appreciated then posting the accurate to the day average of the player, or maybe even post both the updated average and the day old more informative stat(s) together.

I just put average because it’s easy. It’s automatically updated in the box scores each night. I’d love to do OBP/SLG with that, but those aren’t updated until MILB.com updates. So I’d have to wait around each night to add those stats. Usually I try to expand on the basic stats in the game notes section. But I’m kind of limited by what MILB.com provides.

Not to sound negative, I very much enjoy the daily updates, but why the emphasis on a hitter’s season average (noting it for every player) as opposed to a stat like weighted on base average that would tell us more about their overall skill as a hitter?
