Tim Alderson Placed on the Altoona DL

Right-handed starter Tim Alderson has been placed on the Altoona disabled list with a right elbow injury. No word on the extent of the injury, although the move was retroactive to July 18th, which was one day after his last start.

Alderson gave up eight earned runs in 2.2 innings in that start, walking four and giving up seven hits. Prior to that start he had a nice three game stretch where he combined to give up three earned runs in 16.2 innings, with a 16:8 K/BB ratio. That three game stretch was a rebound from another poor start where Alderson gave up seven earned runs in 5.2 innings on June 25th.

On the season, Alderson had a 4.40 ERA in 75.2 innings, with a 56:26 K/BB ratio.
