- Dejan said it in the write up under the trade terms.
- Someone not in the top 5.
Instead of trading for Sanchez and Snider the Pirates could of had Headley in RF with the platoon of Jones and McGhee at first. Is that better than Snider and Sanchez? Don’t know but I would love to see the trade value calculator take a look!
I still feel we should have given serious consideration to trading Hanrahan and kept Lincoln as a closer, if not for this year than in the near future.

The Padres’ ask for Chase Headley was three-fold: 1. A top-5 prospect (WHERE DOES HE SAY IT WASN’T MARTE OR A TOP PITCHER? EVEN SO, IF THEY MEAN HANSON OR POLANCO, NO!).
2. Lincoln or the lottery pick. 3. Additional piece (WHICH IS…..???).
Headley’s 28 years
old, can play corner OF (THERE’S A REASON HE GOT MOVED TO 3B…) and is under control through 2014. Is that one
you’d at least toss around for discussion (NO!)? You’d keep Marte and top
pitching prospects. This might be how “all in” gets defined ultimately.
But no easy call (EASY CALL TO ME).

The above only includes players who received one vote for the top 20. Willy Garcia wasn’t in anyone’s top 20, so he wouldn’t be in this article. Personally I can say that he’s in my top 30, which would put him in tier 5 for me. I don’t know about everyone else, since I only ask for the top 20 rankings.
