Jameson Taillon Named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week

Top prospect Jameson Taillon has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week, after making two starts last week in his jump to the Double-A level. Taillon combined for 11 shutout innings, giving up five hits, no walks, and striking out 13.

In his debut on Tuesday, he threw five shutout innings, allowing four hits and striking out six (RECAP). On Sunday he threw six shutout innings, with one hit allowed and seven strikeouts. Taillon carried a perfect game in to the fifth inning, before giving up an infield single (RECAP).

Taillon is the third Altoona player this season to receive a Player of the Week award. Phil Irwin and Adalberto Santos each won awards during the week of July 23rd.
