Kyle McPherson and Brock Holt Promoted to Indianapolis

According to Cory Giger, the Pittsburgh Pirates have promoted right-handed pitcher Kyle McPherson and infielder Brock Holt to Indianapolis. Both players will be making their first trips to Triple-A.

Holt was hitting for a .322/.389/.432 line in 382 at-bats with Altoona. That was in his second year with the team, after hitting for a .288/.356/.387 line in 511 at-bats last year.

McPherson was expected to begin the year in Triple-A, but was sidelined with a shoulder injury in Spring Training. He returned mid-season to Altoona, and has pitched 48.2 innings, with a 4.07 ERA and an impressive 46:5 K/BB ratio.

  1. About time for Holt!!! Hopefully he plays regularly!

  2. congrats to both players!

  3. Corresponding moves: maybe Taillon to Altoona, Ngoepe to Altoona and Hanson and Kingham to Bradenton?

  4. Finally!! Anderson Hernandez has to lose playing time in Indy now. Not sure why he has gotten so many ABs while Holt was dominating AA and has a legit shot at the majors
