According to Cory Giger, the Pittsburgh Pirates have promoted right-handed pitcher Kyle McPherson and infielder Brock Holt to Indianapolis. Both players will be making their first trips to Triple-A.
Holt was hitting for a .322/.389/.432 line in 382 at-bats with Altoona. That was in his second year with the team, after hitting for a .288/.356/.387 line in 511 at-bats last year.
McPherson was expected to begin the year in Triple-A, but was sidelined with a shoulder injury in Spring Training. He returned mid-season to Altoona, and has pitched 48.2 innings, with a 4.07 ERA and an impressive 46:5 K/BB ratio....
