According to Cory Giger, the Pittsburgh Pirates have promoted right-handed pitcher Kyle McPherson and infielder Brock Holt to Indianapolis. Both players will be making their first trips to Triple-A.
Holt was hitting for a .322/.389/.432 line in 382 at-bats with Altoona. That was in his second year with the team, after hitting for a .288/.356/.387 line in 511 at-bats last year.
McPherson was expected to begin the year in Triple-A, but was sidelined with a shoulder injury in Spring Training. He returned mid-season to Altoona, and has pitched 48.2 innings, with a 4.07 ERA and an impressive 46:5 K/BB ratio.

Corresponding moves: maybe Taillon to Altoona, Ngoepe to Altoona and Hanson and Kingham to Bradenton?

I don’t think Taillon moves up this year.

As for the other moves, I wouldn’t assume a chain reaction. For one, Bradenton has a shot at the playoffs. Altoona doesn’t. So it would make more sense for guys like Gift to stay in Bradenton right now.

Makes sense. Thanks Tim.

Who are they replacing on the AAA roster?

Any merit to the thought that Leroux or Wilson will be moving back to the bullpen as options later this month, but more likely September? I figure Leroux is most likely, given the recent comments. The Bucs have to feel pretty great about the pitching depth at the moment.

My guess they would want Polanco and Hansen on a playoff roster at Bradenton. I know they have liked to push their best prospects to get some postseason experience in the past.

If the season ended today, West Virginia would be in the postseason.

Finally!! Anderson Hernandez has to lose playing time in Indy now. Not sure why he has gotten so many ABs while Holt was dominating AA and has a legit shot at the majors
