They really need a day off. Cutch should get two. Its the only thing they haven’t tried is to give him a breather. I don’t get the people who constantly talk down on Jones, they act like 31 is ancient. The knock on him past years is he would show flashes of great ball, but then hit monster slumps (like Alverez now). This year, there really hasn’t been slump and it seems he is finally starting to hit his stride as a major leaguer. If he can improve his baserunning and defense over the winter, they should easily give him a long term deal.

Jones leads off 2nd inning tonight with doubled, stranded… rookie pitcher with 5 ERA at Triple and we go 1-2-3 in 1st on 9 pitches, don’t try to make the guy work at all… as much as I hate 4 hr Yankee games, I would love to have a lineup that was full of guys who were a pain in the ass and made a pitchers life stressful, we see far too little of that

another slow start tonight, becoming way too routine as lineup gives away the first time through the order (lack of patience and good at-bats) while the pitchers continue to struggle out of the gate… too much stress always having to come back night after night

Not that it matters, but Jones hit his 2nd HR in the top of the 9th, not the bottom of the 9th.
