I think their might be another acquisition before the end of the year. A lot should depend on the injuries and how serious they are. Maybe a nice high priced player for the stretch run

Not sure why Cruz is DFAd – he provided exactly what the Pirates wanted when they signed him. Cruz never has a good WHIP but he’s pitching mostly clean innings so ERA does show how well he’s pitched. Certainly the Pirates could have hung onto him for less than two weeks until 40 man rosters take effect.
