Game Notes: After moving on to the second round yesterday, the Pirates started their series with the DSL Mariners today. The Diamondbacks and Angels were still finishing their first round series today, but the Pirates were playing the Mariners regardless of the outcome of that series, so the game was moved up one day. The Pirates took the lead in the best of three series, and can advance to the DSL Finals with a win tomorrow. Yunelky Adames, who homered to put the Pirates in the second round, hit his second homer of the playoffs. The homer put the Pirates within two runs, down 7-5 at the time. They scored three in the top of the ninth, after three straight one-out singles from Carlos Esqueda, Ulises Montilla, and Danny Arribas.
