Yeah, I wasn't taking issue with the article, though it may seem that
way. I was adding my own feelings on the matter. Actually the article is
new information to me, and welcome.

You would think that, but it's not really the case. I've had a lot of people asking on Twitter, and in the comments, if Tabata should return because of the average. There are concerns because of the lack of power in the stat line, but this report confirms that he's not hitting the ball well.

Huntington suggested last week that Tabata will be a part of the major league team at some point in time. I assume he meant Sept.
Unless Marte or Snider fall apart, the only spot available to Tabata is as a 5th outfielder, Jones has the 4th outfielder spot locked up this year and next year. IMO they would like to get him to Pittsburgh and hope that he gets a few favorable stats then trade him or include him in some trade that they may make over the winter, I see no real future for him in Pittsburgh, they would not have let a talent like Lincoln go for Snider if they were relying on Tabata. In two years the best prospect in the organization (Polanco) IMO will be up with the Bucs or be traded and bring some more talent to the Bucs. I think Polanco is a bigger version of Marte, both 5 tool players.

One simple glance at the Indianapolis players hitting statistics will tell a person all they need to know about how well (unwell) Joggin' Jose Tabata is doing. 8 doubles, NO triples, NO homeruns. The Pirates have no use for bums like him.

Anyone who watched the Pirates while Tabata was on the team shouldn't even need the Indianapolis stats. We saw all we needed to see already. The length of time he was on the team was a huge sample size, so that is no excuse. Tabata is not good.
