Chris Leroux to Join the Pirates

Chris Leroux will join the Pirates in Milwaukee Pirates Prospects has learned.

The right-hander is not on the 40-man roster, but the club outrighted Jeff Clement earlier today, so a spot opened up. Leroux is the first confirmed of several September callups that are expected prior to tomorrow's game.

Leroux has recently been starting for Triple-A, posting a 3.00 ERA over seven outings, a 3.32 ERA over 21.2 frames in relief. He has not pitched in the Majors this season due to a right pectoral strain that forced him on the 60-day disabled list for most of the season. He was out-righted to Triple-A following his rehab assignment....
