Give credit to the writer for not commenting further. Let me add a few observations. Does anyone understand Starling Marte getting thrown out trying to steal second in the 3rd inning with Andrew McCutchen batting and only one out? How about Pedro Alvarez batting in the 6th with the bases loaded and two outs? Who is our batting coach? Has he ever seen a curve out of the zone that he would not swing at? The first two pitches broke into the dirt and he swung at both. We have to have contact in that situation. Obviously he was not watching the pitches to Gaby Sanchez breaking out of the zone – that would be a good thing to look at when you get into the on deck circle.
