I like Clint, but some of his moves are very questionable.
Not only taking out Wandy in the 7th, but not have Pedro bunt with Cutch and Jones on and nobody out. High probability of Pedro striking out, then much easier to escape the inning.

Could not understand it either because they were scrambling to get anything off of Wandy. With a switchhitter coming up, what was the %age in bringing in a RHP? The batter hits RHP’s and LHP’s equally, so why take a guy out when he is throwing the best game of his Pirate career, and he has only thrown 89 pitches? He was 0 for 2 against Rodriguez in his previous AB’s. Is it possible that Hurdle forgot the batter was a switchhitter? Of course, none of the Reds RH batters could do anything with Wandy all night – the pitch Heisey hit out was a perfect pitchers pitch, inside and low, and he got lucky.

another hard to swallow loss. The offense really needs to start picking it up. All of that said, with St. Louis and LA playing almost as poorly as we are, the Bucs are still only 2.5 games out of the wildcard.
