I'm just interested to see how he does in AAA this coming year. I don't see his age as being all that much of a negative factor considering he's out of college, and it appears as though the Pirates organization has treated him with kid's gloves since he came in. OPS above .850 in State College, Bradenton, then finally Altoona this year. Granted, he has about 0 HR potential, but at which point do stats become relevant? The only things that have seemed to slow him down in his progression through the minor league system has been the organization and his injury last year.

I realize so much is invested in "potential," and that this is a very, what have you done for me lately business, but what's he's done lately (and for the last 3 years) is get hits, get on base, not strike out, and steal enough bases to get by.

AFL stats count for what?

Didn't Grossman lead the whole league last year only to be traded an not even make the Astros top 15 prospects?

Look, I like Santos, I like all Pirates prospects, I want them to do well. I just was taken back by you putting him in the MLB OF like he's a sure thing. I've been following the Pirates minor league system since Tim was in diapers. The one thing that is absolutely true is that minor league stats are meaningless without plus tools and age appropriate levels.

I wish that non-prospect Santos would just give it up already. I mean, who does he think he's impressing?
