Pirates Agree to Terms With Morton, Non-Tender Karstens, Tender Everyone Else

Published:

The Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to terms with right-hander Charlie Morton, per a team press release. Terms of the deal weren’t announced, but this means the two sides will avoid arbitration.

The club also officially non-tendered Jeff Karstens, which was a move we learned about earlier today.

Everyone else on the 40-man roster was tendered a contract, including arbitration eligibles Joel Hanrahan, Garrett Jones, Neil Walker, James McDonald, and Gaby Sanchez.

UPDATE 11:44 PM: Bill Brink reports that Morton got $2 M on a one year deal. The 2013 Payroll is updated.
