Scott…and check out the head start those orgs had. They actually had some players in the farm system. We had some offensive players but NO pitching (unless you count Maholm).

NH had to trade for all of our starters.

Btw, you forgot the Nats….:). They got two of their SPs in 2007 (Zim and Detwiler).

So this puts in good company with the Royals which while factually correct misses the point. Winning organizations expect more from their GM. How many loosing seasons should get? I say 5 but others suggest 6 losing season are acceptable. How bad does Huntington have to be before you fire him?

I will say that Bob does appear to have a pretty good handle on where the organization is and what we have done well and poorly.

I personally favored a change, but one thing that bothers me is the assumption that many are making that a change will automatically make us better. That is just not true.

yeah, maybe, Still, should that be the yardstick for determining whether he keeps his job? In his tenure the Rays, A’s, Twins, Orioles, Indians, Dbacks, Rockies and Reds have all made the playoffs. Not sure I really buy the we are better defense. the fact is we should be better than we are.
