I would say it’s average about AAA, a lot of veterans with major league experience, mixed in with younger players. The games are much more intense than AAA though, this is their league and winning is very important. The pitching will also get better as the season moves along and more major leaguers participate

Marte’s winter league performance is encourage. What’s the best comparison for the level of pitching he’s facing?

Marte is a a big deal for the Pirates, no question, I just don’t think he should be put in the leadoff spot, IMO, we should be hoping that Presley and Tabata develop, both are leadoff type hitters.
