I think he could perform well enough in 2013 to become a right handed bat off the bench if he can show more power and that he can play third as well as first.

It is the Stephen Pearce thing all over again. I dont think they have the patience to try it a second time.

If a team isn’t willing to take him it probably means the consensus is he is AAA player.

Unless he improves dramatically this year he is going to be a minor league free agent soon.

I still think there is a tiny chance that he could be a productive part-time player off the bench.

Players can only refuse an assignment if they have three years of major league service time, or if it is their second time being outrighted to Triple-A.
