According to MLBTR, Zach Stewart has been claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox. The Pirates designated Stewart for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for Jeff Karstens. Stewart was acquired earlier in the off-season from the Boston Red Sox for a player to be named later. The Pirates eventually sent Kyle Kaminska to complete the deal.
