First Pitch: All of the New International Player Profiles

In case you haven’t seen it before, we have a “Players” section on the site, which features profiles of every player in the system who is playing for a U.S. team. The player pages provide transaction details, salary and bonus information, and Wilbur Miller’s reports on the players over the years.

When players make the jump to the US, or when a new player is signed or drafted, Wilbur creates a profile for that player. Since the minor league Spring Training roster was announced yesterday, we know the group of players who will most likely be making that jump to the US in 2013. Wilbur put up all of the new profiles tonight, and the links are below for you to check out the new players.

Most of these players will be playing in the GCL in 2013. Also, be sure to check out the depth chart on the “Players” site, which is a great resource and constantly updated.

Kind of a short post tonight. I took advantage of the cancellation this morning by unpacking the rest of my apartment. Check out my story on Tyler Glasnow today. Tomorrow I’ll be looking at some potential breakout players for the 2013 season, and Glasnow will be one of them. Also, the weather should be much better, so I should have something to report on from Pirate City and McKechnie.

**Could Tyler Glasnow Be As Good As Gerrit Cole and Jameson Taillon?

  • WTM is an invaluable member of your team.

    Thanks, Wilbur.

    • Wilbur invaluable? If you say so! :) :)

The “Players” section also has a link to an excellent organizational depth chart, which is otherwise hard to find. Check it out! If it was my blog, I would make this feature more prominent. It is very good.

    Thanks.

The one drawback with the depth chart is that I can’t update it with every player move. There are too many during the season. I do update it to reflect guys joining or leaving the system. From the end of one season until the beginning of the next, I try to have it reflect the levels guys have a realistic chance of winning a spot at. When the season starts I put everybody where they’re actually assigned.
