The Pittsburgh Pirates have made the Jonathan Sanchez signing official, per a team press release this morning. Sanchez comes in on a minor league deal with an invite to Spring Training. No word yet on his salary if he were to make the major league team. The Spring Training tracker has been updated with the signing. There are now 19 non-roster invitees.

I remember the Bucs trying to acquire Sanchez as part of a trade not too long ago, but obviously they were rebuffed. This then makes a lot of sense that they would be in on trying to rebuild his career.
Another high ceiling, no risk move. Not a strong move, but hard to question the value of bringing in more talented arms.
