Last year and at AA he probably had plenty of reps with Locke, McPh, Morris, Leroux, Black, and Cole. At AAA this year he will get a large portion of Cole, Taillon, Cumpton, McPherson, Irwin, and Black. Glad to read that he is working hard and has added the pre-jawbreak weight as muscle through a strong conditioning program. Also like to hear the guys talking positively about Bell and Branson.

He’ll have to learn the entire staff anyhow. Also, I’m sure Tony caught Cole at some point this year, but this will only be Cole’s second pro year.

If so, his hitting will be a bonus.

Tim….do you know if they are working with Tony on this skill?

Sanchez has caught Cole the past few years?

If he can carry over a low .700s OPS from AAA he will still deliver as a starting C. In reality we expected a glove first weak hitter from day 1, his early minor league numbers inflated the draft day evaluation.

ZiPS has him projected at 1.3 WAR this year over 99 games.
