I was surprised he never made it back to the majors though. He hit well in AAA in both 2005-06, after leaving the Pirates. He then moved on to the Mexican League, where he still plays. Rivera has a career minor league average of .313 with 1050 RBI’s. He has 1943 hits as a pro and still probably has some years left. He’s only 34 and still hitting well

Is that the biggest reason he disappeared from sight so quickly ? I have never really heard any one say.
