The BAA and GO/AO ratio are about the same, Oliver has been getting strikeouts, but he also leads the IL in walks. He’s also made 52 more AAA starts(plus 9 relief appearances) and seven major league starts, so he is basically a AAA veteran now. I don’t think I’d throw either one of them in the rotation right now

He ran up high pitch counts in three of four starts, cutting into his total innings. It’s probably a little too soon to assume he is totally past that stretch

Morton with no setbacks will definitely be up before Cole.
The problem with Cole right now is that he has the stuff to pile up strikeouts, but his season high is five and his K/9 rate is pretty low. He is getting the results recently, but with the stuff he has, he should be getting better overall results. Of course, if he has 2-3 more starts where he allows one run over seven innings, then you might overlook the low K rate(not too low) in favor of the quick outs and efficient pitch counts. Still, it is obvious right now that he couldn’t step in to the major league rotation and be an ace. I’d say absolute minimum is three more starts, maximum depends on what he does in the next month or so.
