By: Kevin Anstrom Sat, 25 May 2013 03:28:28 +0000 Would Trea Turner (NCSU) rank #1 if he signed in 2011?

By: leadoff Fri, 24 May 2013 19:40:48 +0000 1. I had and have the Pirates as contenders nothing has changed since the beginning of the year, a team full of good ballplayers is tough to beat and team with one or two superstars is much easier to beat, the Pirates have a good ballplayer at every position and many good replacement ballplayers.
2. I think Locke’s FIP is overrated. He is still maturing and probably has as much stuff as Wandy has, If he wears down he wears down and if he winds up somewhere between 3.5 and 4.0 ERA, I’ll take it. Sometimes you have to go with how a guy pitches, location is everything, if he keeps locating he will beat that 4.5 FIP. Hurdle has something to do with that ERA/FIP, if he leaves a pitcher on the mound to get killed or eat up innings it will jump those numbers up, what would AJ’s numbers have been last year if he does not give up 12 in one game to the Cards?
3. Will the Bucs fade? A lot of that is up to Hurdle and how he uses his players, he can burn them out and of course the rest is up to the players.
I agree with the theory that their depth will take them where they wanted to go last year.

By: bspellAK Fri, 24 May 2013 18:26:12 +0000 Glasnow is ahead of Heredia for me as he gets prodigous amounts of strikeouts, which Heredia has not shown yet. They are practically the same age competing in the same league.

By: deacs Fri, 24 May 2013 18:10:10 +0000 I’d go Taillon, Cole (still based on upside), Polanco, Glasnow, Heredia, Bell, Hanson, Herrera, Kingham and Allie.

By: leadoff Fri, 24 May 2013 17:58:32 +0000 I like this one except I would remove D’Arnaud and replace him with Allie. I am not sure about Hanson in the 10 either, I think I would go with Kingham.

By: smurph Fri, 24 May 2013 17:48:44 +0000 OK, I’ll play. Taillon, Polanco, Cole, Heredia, Bell, Glasnow, Hanson, Sanchez, Herrera, d’Arnaud.

By: Kevin_Young Fri, 24 May 2013 17:33:41 +0000 I know I’m probably the only one that cares about my own top 10 list…….but here it is anyways:
Taillon, Polanco, Cole, Glasnow, Hanson, Bell, Heredia, Kingham, Sanchez, Herrera

I think 6,7,8 is the tricky part.
