Bucs stable of power arms is impressive.

He threw very limited innings last year, so I don’t think they will push him too hard. So far, his career batting average against is somewhere in the neighborhood of .150. We should keep in mind, he has only thrown about 75 innings in the minors so far, but you would be hard-pressed to find a more promising start to any Pirate pitching prospect’s career. He keeps pitching at a level close to this, he will be in Bradenton for the second half.
So far, some promising stuff from the mound between Glasnow and Kingham, to go with Taillon and Cole. And we haven’t even seen Heredia yet. Excited for him to get started, the way he pitched in the Penn League last year.

I like everyone else am curious to see what he can do if he moves a little bit higher.
If the Pirates are smart they will start to limit their AAA pitchers pitches, they might need them later in the year in the majors and they don’t want them as worn out as the pitchers they would replace.

Gregory Polanco is another who should get moved up at some point if he can maintain what he is now doing. Also Tony Sanchez would likely be called up if one of the Pirates’ catchers has an injury.

Hunter never made it to AAA. I remember 7-8 years back Strickland shutting down everyone and the Bucs refusing to call him up. He had decent mlb numbers too and never really got another chance. – frederick langford

I expect him to be promoted to Bradenton before Independence Day if he keeps up his current pace.

Allowed 2 hits or less in 7 of his 9 starts. One of those was a 2.2 inning start due to a number of walks, but holy smokes! 62 Ks in 39 IP?!?! If he can cut back on the walks, look out! That is the only thing driving his WHIP up to 1.0, which is still darn good!
