Jose Osuna is a solid prospect but shouldn’t slow Stetson’s progress. Altoona is really struggling and Allie, Hanson, and Polanco are ready to be moved. Dilson Herrera could move also but you rarely see teenagers in AA. I don’t think the Pirates have done that since Andrew back in 2006.

It bodes well for his footure?

No rush; he’ll be fine IMHO

I don’t think they move him up anytime soon for a few reasons. It is his first full season as a batter/fielder. This time last year he was learning to play 3B in Extended Spring Training. Now he is a first baseman in full-season ball. That is a huge difference over a very short time. There is also the problem with playing time at 1B with Bradenton. They have Jose Osuna, a prospect who started as a pitcher and he is just 20 years old. Osuna and Allie both need to play 1B often, it’s new for both of them. Osuna isn’t ready to move to AA, so there really isn’t a spot for Allie there right now. Really no reason to move him, you don’t expect a young kid to go from never having a pro AB, to playing in High-A in less than a year. That is a lot to ask of anyone, especially someone who took time off from hitting to concentrate on pitching

Is there anything to gain by having him completely dominate lower A ball for a full season? Seems like he dealt with a sizeable slump and then has come out of it destroying the ball again….maybe time to move forward to Bradenton? Or is there Defensive issues that need to be addressed first, anyone know?
