In the past they have paired pitchers up and given each pair ca. 3 innings each, with the starter varying between them.

It’s right on the NY PA border. Can’t wait to go out and see guys like Escobar,Ramirez and Brewer play. There is some talent on this roster. ML potential so go watch them now. The stadium is fan friendly stadium in a quiet neighborhood. Good chance at catching flyballs and getting autographs. (get Ramirez and Escobar’s on a baseball. Someday it could be worth thousands…LOL)

Easy for re hab assignments and coaching from the big club. Easy trek for fans too.

The Spikes were looking for someone who would field a winner. The Pirates have a tendency to send really young pitchers to the NYPL, which is a league that is dominated by college hitters. That is a good thing for the development of those pitchers, but not a good thing for winning, since you’re only getting 4-5 innings from your starters.

The first word that the sides could split came from the Spikes. From there, I think the Pirates started looking at other options. One of those seems to be the possibility of moving a franchise to West Virginia, similar to what they did with Sarasota and Bradenton in high-A a few years ago.

He slipped my mind. Neverauskas is interesting with his size too…hoping this is the year he starts feeling a little more comfortable and starts to dominate. Throw in Sanchez and that is an interesting staff with a lot of potential. Can’t wait to see what Lakind does as a pitcher…maybe he can do a flip like Allie. I definitely think the pitching is pretty good at Jamestown.

I think Pirate owners wanted a team they could move to a new stadium (with a similar University-Short Season A shared concept as in State College) to be built in West Virginia and Jamestown was that franchise.
