Could have been he just started his drills and wasn’t loosened up yet. Can anyone weigh in? Again, I’m no scout, but I have been watching the game for five decades.

I know Krook was taken with the comp pick, but I’m not sure I’d use that as “Gorkys/Krook for Gaby/Kaminska”. No guarantee the Pirates take Krook if they still have the comp pick.

Before the draft there were rumors about Phil Bickford.

I enjoyed the draft ‘haul’. As emjay says, I hope we sign them.

Gonna be interesting following Meadows’ career vs Appel’s and David Dahl’s. Also, gonna be following Krook’s career, too.

I was hoping Jason Hursh would drop to us, but c’est le vie.

Foo

Never expected either Meadows or Frazier to be available at No. 9, nor for Boston to jump up and draft Trey Ball. KC drafted Hunter Dozier right before the Pirates – were they that blown off of their direction because of Boston taking Trey Ball so early? I watched the pre-draft show on MLB and this kid has the bat and the size, and was one of the favorites of the experts at MLB. Then Reese McGuire available at No. 14 was unexpected, and the Pirates could have had their pick of 2 or 3 college pitchers. BTW, he’s from Brentwood, Washington. Blake Taylor in the 2nd Round is about right. A raw HS LHSP talent that has hit 94 mph this Spring, but is usually 88-91. At 6’3″, 210 – excellent size for a lefty, he has some work to do with command, and further developing all of his offerings. Definitely a high upside and BA refers to him as physical and athletic and his potential as tantalizing. I hope the Pirates do not have any trouble signing these kids
