After last year it’s great to have not only a first round pick signed, but TWO!! Welcome to the Burgh Austin! Can’t wait to see if him and Reese can ride the wave together through the minors. Not quite the next Tallion/Cole, but to add to nice position prospects is just what we needed.

Nice job Pirates, I’ve taken a beating here in Philly and it’s GREAT to be able to throw it back at em!

I wrongly assumed that the pick was unprotected.
It appears that Krook will go to Oregon to play college ball. In any event, I hope the injury is minor.

Do you remember AJ Dickey in the draft? They found that he was missing something in his elbow and he never knew it. His offer plummeted, but he has made out pretty well. I wonder if the Pirates can work a deal with the Marlins to sign the kid. Or, why he wants to commit to a 4 year school is beyond me. He can opt for a JUCO, and be draft eligible again next year if he corrects the problem. If he does not get drafted, still plenty of time to transfer to the 4 year school

Goldbeard Huntington strikes again! Assuming that Gorkys Hernandez continues to be Gorkys Hernandez.
Great news on the Meadows signing as well

With JaCOby also signing for slot, the Bucs have about $640 K left without going over their base slot value (and another $440 K or so without any penalty other than tax). Remaining top 10 round picks are Frazer (slot is $240K) and Buddy Borden (slot value is about $180K).

Looks like a great job by the FO on this draft to me.
