I’d be planning the draft for 4 great picks and then sprinkle in some college, CC, and maybe a HS signability pick (that you end up getting for like 700K) as for the first 11 picks. Some rebates should make signing all the guys easy, like some top 10 rd picks were signed for 10K last year. I’m going Stewart, Frazier, Meadows at pick #9. I think you have to go HS there, too much top-heavy talent. At #14 if it comes with a rebate I’m taking another high end guy in Phil Bickford 6’4″ 200 (you can throw 30 LBs on him easily) and projecting that he should be 97 MPH all day bc he’s already kinda there. Grow the arms, buy the bats. That’s scouting 101

I don’t honestly believe that those guys would be available at those picks, but they’d be steals. I’d be fine with Crawford and Kaminsky in those first two picks, though most would consider the latter a big reach.

So I doubt they’d do it this year.

He’s just gonna get less money if he bypasses us, right? His only leverage is independent ball.

Oh wait…I foogot….he loves the comraderie of his college team more than money, so playing with a bunch of ‘never-wases’ will be fun.

:) :)

At a realistic #9 with the other 4 you mention there, I’d take in order Frazier/Meadows/Ball/McGuire (I see no projectable upside in a high school catcher if any of the first three are on the board).

At, #14, I’d go Crawford/Stanek/Peterson (or one of the four from #9 list if they’re still there). Renfroe and Smith – eh. Manaea – absolutely not!

I wouldn’t imagine that Mark Appel would sign a waiver. But I can’t see why anyone in the later rounds would refuse to sign a waiver. Why cut off one avenue, especially when you know that team is already interested?

I would think as a matter of policy the Bucs would ask all previous draftees to sign waiver to be drafted again.

That being said how many prospects get drafted by same team more than once? I guess Matt Curry was.
