Defensive replacement? I assume no injury concern? He still strikes out a lot, but what an amazing season he has had, considering he is still pretty early into the transition from pitcher to position player. I am more enthused about him than Bell at this point. Obviously hope Bell turns into what was expected of him, but I am more wait and see on him.

His OPS now sits at .835, and this production is lower than the expectations fans have for him. But Bell is clearly mastering the strike zone. When coupled with Bell’s age and professional experience, his emerging plate discipline suggests the future will be brighter still.
