If I mention a speed it is either from Pitch f/x (which we have in the working press area) or I ask a scout.

When sitting behind home plate, I’ve regularly seen a +/- 7 mph difference compared to several scout guns. That’s right I actually saw a pitch that was projected to be 7 MPH SLOWER, and it wasn’t even swung at either! And talking with some of the pitchers who sit behind home-plate, they too acknowledge that the stadium gun is “juiced” and often inconsistent. Meanwhile the Power broadcasters and others cite the stadium gun as the true pitch speed on a daily basis. When listening to home games on the radio that I can’t make, I laugh to myself when I hear any pitch speed because I know they sure as hell can’t see any scout guns from the press box. So I know where they ARE looking! Frankly, the folks sitting in the press box and reporting out of the press box need to get a clue! …There!….I finally got that gripe off my chest! No hard feelings, just the truth. As for Glasnow, this faulty stadium gun takes nothing away from him ’cause he is just nasty, and actually does throw very hard! Dominating hitters left and right. Once he gets consistent with his command from start to start, there’s no stopping him.

Bell has been tearing the cover off the ball but struggles with breaking stuff from time to time. After the injury cost him nearly all of last season I don’t think it would be a terrible idea to let him play out the rest of the season in West Virginia and see what happens as far as Bradenton or Altoona goes coming out of camp in 2014.

The glove definitely needs work.

Any chance he moves up soon or is there something he needs to improve before he can move on?
